What’s the first step after discovering your boat has sunk at the dock?

First thing: don’t panic, and don’t try to raise it yourself. Call your marina immediately so they can assess any environmental risk (fuel, oil leaks). Then contact your insurance company and a licensed marine salvage company. Time matters because the longer it sits, the worse the damage, especially engines and electrical systems.
